Kuramerukagari and Kurayukaba movies unveil their length, theatrical release, and digital release.

The streak of anime news continues to barge in. Shigeyoshi Tsukahara and Twiflo’s original full-length anime project Kurayukaba and its spin-off Kuramerukagari reveal the length of 1 hour 4 minutes and 1 hour 2 minutes respectively. Both movies will have a theatrical debut in Japan theatres, simultaneously both will stream on Crunchyroll this spring.


Kurayukaba follows the story of Detective Soutaru following the mass disappearance in the Town. While haunting for the clues Soutarou enters into the underground realm “Kuragari” and encounters a black iron armored train and its commander.
Tsukahara is credited for his directorial debut along with the original story and screenplay while Kazunori Minagawa (Tokyo Ravens) handled the character designs.

Kuramerukagari follows the story of Kagari named girl in a coal mining town running a map-making business. A boy named Yuya who dreams of breaking free from the coal world, surprisingly together uncovers a great conspiracy in the town.

Tsukahara is also credited for this original work, screenplay, and director for the film while Ryohgo Narita (Baccano) provided the original concept.
