Howdy! All Indian Anime Fans, the great anime news awaits you. Warner Bros India has announced The Boy and The Heron by Hayao Miyazaki is ready to hit Indian Theatres. Warner Bros took it to their Instagram handle to announce the theatrical release of the movie both in Japanese language with Subtitles and English dubbed.

As said Hayao Miyazaki’s last film at Ghibli Studios The Boy and The Heron grabbed several awards. The anime bagged the Best Motion Picture Animated category at the 81st Golden Globes Awards. The anime also won the Best Animated Film award at the BAFTA awards for 2024 while beating Spiderman: Across the Spider Verse and Elementals.

Hayao Miyazaki’s anime film also grabbed the Best Animated Feature award at the 96th Oscars.

Amidst the constant war in Japan, Mahito Maki drowns in the sorrow of losing his mother in a fire and His father ties the knot with Netsuko, his mother’s sister which further bothers him. Netsuko and His father take him out of Tokyo and move to the rural village of his mother. Soon Mahito shoulders another painful news of Netsuko’s Pregnancy but it all turns around when he meets the talking heron who is claiming that his mother is alive near the tower. One day Netsuko goes missing in that same tower and Mahito vows to bring her back but he enters another world of life and Death.

The Worldwide cast for English dubbed features some famous faces like Christian Bale, William Dafoe, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Karen Fukuhara, and Mark Hamill.
Netflix has acquired the rights for its digital release on their platform later this year, However, any specific date isn’t revealed yet.
