Toho Animates Award-Winning Manga The Darwin Incident.

Howdy! Anime enthusiasts, Ready for some anime adaptation news. Toho Animation confirms The Darwin Incident anime adaptation of the award-winning manga.   The Darwin Incident widely known as Darwin Jinhen is Shun Umezawa’s original work. On Wednesday, Toho Animation announced, and also the Twitter account of the newly announced anime revealed a teaser visual. That’s not all but Umezuwa also shared an illustration celebrating the adaptation.

Shun Umezawa’s Manga follows the life of a half-human half chimpanzee known as “Humanzee” Charlie. Charlie’s mother gave birth to him in a biological research institute. Since then human parents have raised him for 15 years. The best of both worlds remarks some great qualities and characteristics. Charlie enters high school and meets a nerd girl named Lucy. Soon the friendship between the two blooms. The unwavering threat for Charlie slowly creeps trying to lure him into the world of Danger. Will he save himself and his family? 

The Darwin Incident

The Darwin Incident began its serialization in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Afternoon in June 2020. In Fall, 2023 Kodansha USA licensed the manga for English Publication. 

The Manga was an instant hit and received immense love around the world with 1.6 million copies in circulation.

 That’s not all The Manga bagged several awards and nominations into its collections. In 2022, it won the Excellence Award at the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival and in the same year it also won 15th Manga Taisho. In 2023 it won the French 17th ACBD’s Prize “Asie de la critique”. The Manga also ranked fifth at the 1st Late Night Manga Award hosted by Bungeishunju’s Crea Magazine in 2022.

On Tuesday, the day before the announcement Toho Animation teased the upcoming anime and its revelation in their X account.
