Howdy! Voracious Manga readers, let’s dive into some mythological manga news. Record of Ragnarok Manga gets a spin-off manga titled Shumatsu no Walkure Kinden: Kamigami no Apocalypse (Record of Ragnarok Forbidden Tale: Apocalypse of the Gods). Shinya Umemura, Ajichaki, and Takumi Fukui’s original manga spin-off was revealed in this year’s July issue of Coamix’s Comic Zenon Magazine.
The Spin-off manga will be published in the August issue on June 25 where Ippei Okamoto will draw the series and Otsuhiko Naruse will provide the story. Moving from its traditional style of story-telling this manga will be from God’s perspective.
The story of the original manga followed the council of Gods once every millennium where Gods decide the fate of humanity’s existence. But Valkyrie’s purpose is a chance to let humanity prove their worth. Hence begins the battle between gods and Humans to decide the survival or extinction of the human race known as the Battle of Ragnarok.

Record of Ragnarok debuted in Coamix’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017. Viz Media acquired the license for English publication in North America in June 2021.
Keita Izuka (GANTZ: G) published another spin-off manga Shumatsu no Walkuire Kitan: Jack the Ripper no JIkenbo ( Record of Ragnarok Mystery- The Class Files of Jack the Ripper) in Comic Zenon magazine in October 2022.
In October 2019 Takeo Ono also launched a spin-off manga titled Ryo FU Ho Sen Hishoden (The Legend of Lu Bu Fengxiang The Flying General).
The original Manga inspired an ONA series by Graphinica and aired on Netflix in June 2021.
